E-Rate

E-Rate or the Schools and Libraries Universal Service Support Mechanism - created with the passage of the Telecommunications Act of 1996 - provides discounts to assist eligible schools and libraries in the United States to obtain affordable telecommunications and Internet access. E-Rate discounts are determined by economic need based upon rural or urban location and the number of students participating in the Nation School Lunch Program.

CenturyTel has participated in the E-Rate program since its inception. Whether you are filing a BEAR or needing a question answered, getting help at CenturyTel is easy.

To get your E-Rate discount posted to your CenturyTel statement please submit by November 1.

  1. Download the CenturyTel E-Rate Discount Method Election Form.
  2. Before an E-Rate reimbursement can be processed, your FCC Form 486 confirmation letter must be on file.
  3. Return your competed form to the address indicated on the form.

Be certain to include a detailed description of your funding configuration to assist with the proper assignment of discounts to the appropriate Funding Request Numbers.
